Tired and sore

Today my hands are really sore and achy. All the symptoms of carpel tunnel have returned, this time with some swelling in my wrist and knuckles on both hands. Also my toes in the joints are red and swollen, the pain from them is a bruised feeling. I think I will have to go back and see my GP, as I find things difficult to do around the house. Today I'm really tired and feel a bit 'under the weather'. Sorry to moan on. When I spread my fingers it feels as if a spring is pulling them back into curled position. Moan, Moan, Moan . I have been busy this week, as my sister and husband came to stay. It's nice to see them, but, even with my husbands help, it gets tiring!
Never mind, 1st March today and, hopefully spring is on the way. Love Sue

Hi,
Sorry you are feeling rubbish, this arthur is just so tiresome at times isn't it? Well lets hope with spring, some better days are on the way for everyone.

Hi Sue, I have every sympathy with how you are feeling.I've had three really bad nights due to hand pain and the lack of sleep can leave you feeling very low.My GP has told me to take paracetamol for the pain but now even that is not working I am am going to make an appointment tomorrow to ask if he can give me something stronger.Do you find that family and friends don't really understand how much pain you are in?Most people can't understand how severe the pain can be unless they are a sufferer themselves. My OA was diagnosed end of last year and it was in a fairly mild form at that time but over the last two months the pain has escalated and at times I could scream with the pain.I can put up with the stiff swollen fingers and swollen wrist but it's the pain I find difficult to cope with and also the lack of sleep.I've only recently joined this forum and have found all the advice most helpful.Knowing others are 'in the same boat'as myself is a great comfort.Best wishes,Breane.0

Hi Sue,
I bet you've been overdoing it with your sister and husband staying and even with your partner helping just plain socialising and putting a cheerful face on for others can be very tiring - hopefully your symptoms will settle down now it's just the two of you again and you can relax.

Hello,
I have been a bit more active than usual, I suppose. Plus I like the house to be really at its best as my sister is so neat!!! I also think the steriod injections in my wrists have a couple of month ago, have run out of steam! I have also allowed myself to worry about my neuro appointment, which dosn't help. Sometimes I feel a sense of perspective and that I can cope. Others, well, I think all the bad things that MAY happen. But probably won't. Thanks for replies, it helps. . Love Sue.0 -
Hi Sue,
Sorry your wished and hurting. I have to agree with legs and you have been overdoing things. Your worry wont help but you shouldn't let your mind take you to bad places re you neuro appointment. I haven't seen if you have your appointment yet? Try and take it easy for a couple of days, you have a good gp so maybe they would ring and see if you can get more injections in your wrists?
I wish I could help more, its often the price we pay for pushing it too much. I work all day sundays and I am also wished and it makes everything hurt so much more. For me its a monday I really pay but it's all started to kick. I have another 5-6 hr to go but then I intend to REST! I just stopped for a cuppa and saw your post, I told you before I had a lot of suspected this and that's via my brain. I don't know how it effects you as we are all individuals but in the end I decided the fear would not rule me on 'what ifs' till the 'what ifs' were actually there. They probably aren't there and if they are (again I say they probably aren't) you will deal.
Take it easy for a min, go to a nice place in your head and try to find the switch that turns off worry.
Take care. x0 -
