Hi All ,

I was at the doctors yesterday to ask about a laxative , as the last one she gave me was giving me awful pains in stomach it was called duolax, she has now put me on SENNA LAXITIVES, she told me that they are good but she also put me on omeprazole 20 mg capsules the gp said I need to be on them if taking anti-inflammatory meds and as ordered a bloods to be taken on Wednesday.

Hazel was at the physio yesterday and was given heat treatment , the physio told her her shoulder was hard and the heat treatment would loosen the muscels , sees physio next monday .

My son is still in his splint , I do hope to hear soon about his inpending operation

    Hi
I was just reading your post and wondered if you have tried movicol for constipation it is so much better than laxatives you dont get pains in your stomach or the runs.Your Doctor will give it you. I use it all the time as strong pain killers make me constipated all the time. .......I am new to the site and not used to it yet all the best Alicea

    Hi
just thought i'd throw my 2 pennies worth in.
For constipation I have read recently that Wheatgrass (powder form not tablets) are great for constipation and bloatedness. I am going ot try it as the Diclofenac I take has been giving me an 'ikky' belly.

    Hi Alicea,
I had tried that movicol it was not giving me any pains in my stomach but my ankles swelled awful , so stopped taking that then dulacx was next but it gave me awful stomach pains . so now senna tablet and lauctlose , now that seems ok , hazel goes to health centre one day and I go the next , every wednesday I go to the podiarty to get toe dressed , hopefully this last anti- bioctic is the last one that has killed the infection which goes away and reappears .

Your GP probibly started you on a fairly low dose, and it may be you'll settle down in a few days, otherwise, your GP may be able to increase the dose, if its not strong enough. People have mentioned movilate, I know it is a very good medication and is I've used it a lot with people who are unable wheelchair and bed bound, with good effect for most. Love Sue

    Hi Mike

I take Omeprazole and they work wonders on the stomach, I can take my meds before eating now if I'm sore during the night and I don't feel I have a funny stomach. Great to hear things are looking up xx

Hi Mike, I'm taking the Omeprazole every morning usually around 6.30am before breakfast but often I get up at 5am, I need to so the stiffness goes before the kids get up. But because I am not forgetting to take it every day I can take my tablets whenever without food sometimes, the Omeprazole works all the time it's not like you need to take it before you can eat. Well this is my experience anyway, from what you have said it sounds fine, they really are great. I always had a strange feeling in my tummy taking the Tramadol but never since being on these.
