Sore eyes

Hi, I'm quite new on here but was after a little advise. I have not been diagnosed as yet but it's quite possibly ra.
The thing is I've noticed my eyes being a little blurred recently and the tear duct of left eye seems to be swollen and sore if that makes sense. It was the right eye a few weeks ago.
Has anyone else suffered with similar symptoms and can ra effect the eyes?
Thanks for reading

Hi Jo,
You probably ought to pay your GP a visit as I think, if you have RA or any other arthritic condition, you are prone to Iritis - so your doc will need to treat it. Eyes are very precious anyway so even if it isn't that you need to look after them - just to make sure.
Let us know how you go on.

Hi
I get red eyes too which can be quite painful.. They have suggested I try artificial tears, which can be quite soothing.
I agree though get it checked out - It's not worth the risk is ikt?
Take care

Hi,
This is my fist time on this site, thought it was interesting as I have been diagnosed with eyeritis, probably 8 years ago now. my eyes can get very red and bloodshot, extremely painful and I have to have perscription steroid eye drops to manage the pain and swelling symptoms (eye becomes egg shaped ). In my experience most people have never heard of it, even some regular doctors find it hard to believe and so wont fill my very needed perscription. I have to get medicine perscribed by only my eyespecialist who says there is no cure, can only help the symptoms. It is not fun, my heart goes out to you.0 -
Hi Jo and Chris,
Welcome to the site, it is a good one. I get eye problems, mine is optic neuritis of undetermined cause. I do get red and sore sometimes but mostly its just blur and fog. I got crohn's and sometimes they blame that and sometimes they blame my brain and sometimes they blame Arthritis. They can feel as if there is gravel in them, sometimes there is but keep bugging them as eyes are important and for mine the steroid drops help. take care and stay warm.0 -

I all so get sore eye's, but mine do tend to water alot. I used to get what is called arc eye, it is what you get when you get a flash from a welding torch. (i don't suppose that dose not mean a lot) well it feels like having sand or of such in your eye's. I come's and go's. Have reported it to the rumey, part and part of the game a suppose.

Hi
I also get sore, itchy eyes. I put mine down to hay fever, but I get it all the time, so maybe its not that simple!!! I've never mentioned it to the medics as I thought it was irrelivent, still, maybe mine is hayfever. I'll ask. Love Sue0 -
Hiya,
This is weird :? Since this post has been on the site, I've now developed a sore right eye. When I woke Wednesday morning and this morning, my right eye was bloodshot and lids swollen.
I suffered from conjunctivitis for years but it's not like this. It eventually goes away by mid-morning. Very odd!

Last night, my left eye was very painful and red. This morning my left eye also, but I'd picked some catkins in the field next to my house, so I put them outside and I seem to be getting better! Sue0
