Hi all, is it only me or does everyone have a bit of messing about for a date for their op? I went to the hospital today, expecting to sign my consent form, have another xray and finally get my date(my hospital appt was cancelled last week!) It was not to be "a lack of beds" :?
Im told it could be upto a month; I hope its not later or I'll have to do all the pre op again and after being at the hospital for 3 hours waiting around I dont fancy repeating that process many times!
Well on the bright side, Ive got a reprieve
My lovely hubby says if Im lucky, I might get a new hip for my birthday, which is at the end of the month, if he thinks that will save him buying me a present he can think again!
Sorry for the moan jk

Hi jk
I hope you get a date before the preop assessment stuff need renewing. They don`t realise how stressful it is waiting for appointment or admission dates. I feel like I spend most days waiting for letters or phone calls from hospitals.
I know 1 month doesn`t sound that long to some people but when you are in pain and have started to get yourself prepared mentally for the op it feels like ages.
Since I found out about my hip dysplasia, I was advised to have my daughter checked out, so she has been referred to the paediatric orthopaedic team. After waiting for months, my husband got a phone call with a cancellation the day after my op last week. But we had to say no and keep waiting for a letter as there was no one to take her whilst I was in hospital! Typical, it now looks like we don`t mind waiting for ages.
I hope you hear something very soon x
