I have been referred by my GP for possible carpel tunnel surgery, which, although I'd rather not, I'll be pleased to get treatment for. I've already had steriod injections twice! The rheummy I saw at the hospital, said my GP could operate at her surgery, she was slightly surprised, as apparently here its a Plastic Surgeons job!!! So, now I have to wait for another appointment. :? I should say that the rheummy was only a tempory stand-in. Hes the one who thinks I may have myasthenia gravis, which my GP also thinks unlikely, fingers crossed. Ha Ha. :):)

What with this and my manager wanting me to think about re-deployment (see Working forum, if interested!) :)
Just an update. Love Sue

    Hi Sue
It is confusing and frustrating when you are given conflicting opinions and advice. At least if the rheumy you saw was a locum this should mean you will be given another opinion which should help you to make a more informed choice about your treatment.
If you do need surgery, although it is a big decision to make, try to look at the benefits post surgery, which I`m sure will mean less discomfort etc..
However it is something extra you could do without at the moment, what with issues at work!
    Take care x

    Hi,
I think its plastic surgeons are used for this type of surgery as they have more experience in dealing with hands, some hospitals use plastics, some orthopediac. Its still only a day op. I think. Anyway, if they do manage to make that more comfortable, I'll be pleased . Love Sue
