Hi, after having a lovely day yesterday I have done something stupid, I turned my ankle over earlier, it was so painful, I took some painkillers and had a rest, after an hour or so it was so swollen, so Malcolm thought I was best getting it checked out.

Off we went to the hospital, had 3 hours of fun!! at the hospital, it turns out to be a hairline fracture, so I now have a plaster cast up to my knee and have to see the orthopaedic surgeons on monday, it never rains but it pours, so feeling very down and fed up tonight love Jaspercatxx

    Hi Jaspercat
I'm so sorry to hear about your accident. it must have been very painful for you. I suppose most people have a fall or something similar at some time, but it is always a nasty shock when it happens. I hope all will go well for you.
    Joan :)

Sorry to hear about your hairline fracture. Can you sign your plaster cast for me.

Thank goodness for your 3 hours of fun at the hospital the last time I went they only kept me for less than an hour. I can't now help thinking about all that fun I must have missed.

All the best with the orthopaedic surgeons on Monday.

    All the best
    Badger

Hi, I have just returned from an early appt to see the orthopaedic surgeon, the fracture extends across the ankle and up my leg a bit, so plaster cast for the next 6 weeks, not too bad, could be worse. For Badger I have signed your name on the cast for you love Jaspercatxx

    Hi Jaspercat
I am sorry that you have ended up in a plastercast! It is easy to do though isn`t it? When my son was a baby I went over on my ankle and broke my foot. I was surprised that it could happen so easily. I hope you are not in much pain and that you don`t get any itches inside the cast! welcome to the feet up club!

Awww poor you. I did exactly the same last July and it allowed my OA to take hold.
Try not to do too much, not it easy to do anything with a plaster on anyway I know.
Do take care and enjoy the rest.

Hi Bigmomma, have added your name to my cast, it has made the pain alot easier, no itching yet? my Rheumy has been informed, the nurse rang today and said that my Rheumy has prescribed a Kenalog injection for me, she tried to give me an appt for tuesday, I have to go to her!! I spoke to the district nurses who are coming to do my bloods, they will do it for me.

I have to fracture my ankle to get my Rheumy to act, she has failed to help me for about a year, all of a sudden she wants to know love Jaspercatxx
