Is this a symptom?

Hi
Friday I was kneeling down on the floor for about 5 minutes. I tried to stand up but couldnt straighten my left leg. My knee just didnt want to straighten out and when I tried forcing it it wasnt so much painful but very stiff and uncomfortable. All day yetserday I couldnt straighten my leg out at all and felt like it was bending the wrong way trying to force it. Today it isnt as bad and managed to go for a gentle jog this morning.
Is this a symptoim of arthritis? does anyone else get this?
Also, Raynauds has popped up to make its mark the last few days so am wondering whether it is the arthritis or maybe something else?
This morning before nad after jogging I was having pain in base of middle 3 toes on left foot. Not enough to warrant me to stop but enough to be annoying and uncomfortable.
Can either / both of these be arhtritis? Any advice is greatly appreciated, thank you.

    Hi Bailey,

Yes, these are symptoms - any pain, uncomfortable feelings and stiffness of a joint are down to arthritis and all these feelings will come and go (let's hope they go once they've come eh  ).

If you experience the stiffness in your knee joint again I suggest you try lying on your bed and trying to gently straighten it there rather than when you're standing or preferably in a bathful of hot water - this would probably help relieve it.

    Hi Bailey

Sorry to hear you are not doing too well at the moment. I would suggest that you give your poor knee a little rest. Weight bearing exercises, will not, in my opinion, be doing it much good at the moment, as it is obviously in a complaining mood.

I would suggest going out for a fast bike ride if you cannot have a break from exercise for a day or two. Non weightbearing exercise will be much kinder to your knee until it hopefully simmers down.

Look after your body. It is obvously telling you something.

    Take care

As everyone is saying, although exercise is a good thing, you do have to be careful and not do too much. I too have been told that riding a bike is better than running as it causes less stress on the joints. Run sometimes but, try a bike and see if it helps.

Its hard to change habits I know, but, sometimes compromise is best. Hope all goes well and the knee behaves itself soon. :) Love SUe
