Battling On

How long have people been waiting for hip revisions? I am waiting to be done in Sheffield at the end of April, but have been told that due to ward closures because of winter vomiting bug and extra work due to people breaking limbs in the snow, there is a strong possibilty that the operation will be delayed.

Given it was agreed that the thing needed doing on the 25th Sept I am feeling very hard done by. I had to be referred on due to the op being quite complex.

I am still battling on at work, but the constant pain is hacking me off. I can't do anything or get anywhere.

Teresa, I am so sorry you have waited so long, I can't help regarding your hip, but do empathise as I waited for my own surgery since May 08 and got it last week. Linda

I am sorry that you have to wait for the operation you so badly need. Perhaps though, its better to wait and have the special treatment you need than to have it rushed through and not get the surgical treatment done in the way you and the medics have decided you need. Good wishes, Sue
