I had a new shower put in yesterday as I had toruble getting out of the bath due to oa in my wrists. Life has been made so much easier I love it. I also had the taps changed to the ones with the long handles and the door catches to rocker ones. It has given me a bit more independance.

    Hi Mandy
I`m glad that you have found a way of making life a bit easier for yourself. Keeping your independence is important and as you have found there are lots of gadgets and stuff which can help us do that.
I have found my longhandled sponges and brushes invaluable in the shower for reaching those hard to reach places  (feet!)
    Enjoy!!

    hi Mandy
How lovely for you to have your new shower. At present, my bathroom is being refitted and as part of it, I'm having a bath lift installed. I love to soak in the bath because it eases my pain, so I can't wait for them to finish the work. I'll be in there for hours :!:

i'm glad the shower has helped you, it is horrible being unable to keep clean, i know as i've gone from showering most days to alot less, simpley because i struggle to get in and out of the bath (our shower is over the bath)
the o/t said she could arrange for my bathroom to be made in a wet room but becuse i have a 2 yr old i do need the bath for her, so no wet room for me!!!

i'm sat here now thinking how nice a soak in the bath would be, i haven't had one for ages as i cannot get in and out of it, to me showers are just not the same!!

    Hi Mandy
Your just trying to make us all jealous, did you stay in the shower for ages lol. I had the taps door handles and bits and bobs done a couple of years ago. Its amazing the difference little things make.
Over the next couple of months I hope to have a wet room built, plans have been drawn up and now just waiting on the builders. Can’t wait for it to be done I think I’ll spend long periods of time in the shower. We have a shower now over the bath but its hard getting in and out. its funny how you miss that soak in the bath though, I used to soak and do the crossword like a prune when I got out. Enjoy and take care its just so nice when you get something you really need and have wanted for ages.
