Hi everyone
I am 36 years old and have been suffering for the last year from painful and swollen knees, ankles and fingers, also I get pain in my hips and have problems standing sometimes, I also feel fatigued when walking, I went to a consultant who said it was a hormone related arthritic episode, but he did nothing for me and sent me away.
I am still suffering and have asked to be refered to someone else. If anyone can tell me if these are some of the symptoms which they have suffered and what the arthritis is that they suffer from then maybe I won't feel like I am wasting everyones time.
Thank you
Lisa

Lisa rest assured you are not wasting anyone's time. We are all here to support each other and we actually enjoy being able to help someone else or get the answers we are so badly looking for. I have OA of the spine & several other spinal related issues. It does sound from your symptoms you may have arthritis. I recognise those symptoms, sadly I just can't remember from who posted them. My OA is like a gnawing pain deep in my bones and it gets worse during hormonal times or bad weather, I know the weather before I look out the window in the morning, very weird. I'm always fatigued and feel I could sleep on the spot, wher as I've always been a very light sleeper and unable to sleep during the day. My Mum has arthritis in her knees and they get swollen and very sore. Hopefully someone will be along soon to help, try your best to stay positive, it's hard but once you know your diagnosis and meet people in the same boat it will really help you to accept and come to terms with it. Best wishes

Hi Lisa, it sounds like it could be some form of arthritis but you really need blood tests and x-rays for confirmation, if the results come back negative then it is still possible you may have RA, there is a something called Sero-negative RA that dosen't show on blood tests, have you seen a Rheumy? if not ask your gp to refer you, hope you get on ok love Jaspercatxx0
