Decided to have toe fusion

Hi everyone,
Hope you are all okay,
After much thought I've decided to have my big toe fused if the consultant is still in agreement to do it. Have researched all I can and have weighed everything up - decided that I am too young to be having this amount of pain if there is a good chance it can be improved by surgery I need to do it, scary though it is. I've mentioned it at school and that's okay. I'm having some more steroid injections on April 3rd, which I am glad about, as the pain the last few weeks has been awful. Will see what they say about the fusion then, or at the follow up appointment if that seems better. Feel better I think for making a decision - thanks to all for your advice!
Kind regards,
Josie

    Hi
I'm glad that you have made the decision, I hope that you'll feel much better with less pain when its done. Its always a bit frightening having surgery, but in making the choice you've already faced a hard part of the battle. Pain gets you down and makes you so tired, dosn't it? Keep positive and take care, love Sue

    Hi Sue,
It's been so bad the last few weeks that I decided I just had to make my mind up. I hope the consultant doesn't rethink now, as he has said it isn't ideal for someone so young, but will do it if it's what I want-he's left the decision to me really. The thought of it is very frightening, but if it works I will be very glad I did it! Hope all okay with you,
    Josie
