Tramodol and Triptans

I'm allergic to Codeine and can't take NSAIDs. A rheumatologist mentioned Tramodol but I've read that it can be dangerous if taken with SSRI anti-depressants or with Triptans which I take often for migraine.
Does anyone else have experience of taking both?

    Hi Avril
Ooooh - I have migraines and took tramadol for at least a year at one point. Couldn't have had a migraine in that period.
Mmmm I really wouldn't risk it without discussion with 'those that know'. Shame as it is quite effective, if POWERFUL
It is a nuiscance when you can't tolerate so many meds. Lots of people have the same probs.
    Take care

Hi I'm Gill. Have had RA for years and spinal problems for ever! I take tramadol daily (250mgs/day) as this is the only analgesic that doesn't give me bad side effects. I also have regular migraines At least 1 or 2 per week . I take imigran spays for the migraine which is a tryptan. Neither my GP nor my Rheumy has any problem with this and I don't suffer any ill effects from it either and it really works for my migraines. Hope this has been a help. :)
