My nana has recently been told she needs a should hemiarthroplasty because her arthritis has got too painful it is affecting her day to day activities.

Just wondered if anyone has had this operation or is on the waiting list for it?!

Thanks lucy

I have not heard of the surgery your Nana had - but i did have a decompression done through arthroscopy (3 tiny holes at various points on your shoulder)
I had impingement issues - 2-3 years of pain
The operation was pretty painful and took 6- 9 months to recover from but was a great success
Unfortunately i have plenty more arthritis problems - like my spine upper and lower ,and knee and ankle
Tell your Nana to go for it - I understand that all shoulder surgeries tend to have successful outcomes
