Like a new woman, humira am I getting my hopes up too soon?

Had my first jab of humira Thursday and woke up on Friday like a new person almost like I had a body transplant over night! For once I could actually walk to the bathroom without shuffling and crying in pain. Also, and this was the most remarkable thing for me I could actually squeeze shampoo out of the bottle. However, I am a little sceptical as I am wondering am I getting too excited too soon? Is this all too good to be true and am I going to be wailing putting my socks on again tomorrow morning? Anyone else been on humira for longer? From what I have read so far there have been differing reactions to it so am just making the most of my body working again.

hello Mrs Dalloway, what a great post how nice it is to see someone doing so well, If i could dance i would get you up for a quick step now, but alas i could not dance prior to arthritis. Its great that you are feeling so good so soon but a word of warning DONT OVERDO IT i know what it feels like when i get a good day, you tend to do all those things you could not yesterday. I'm really made up for you, dont be sceptical just enjoy it this may be the drug you needed that works for you. Take care

    Hi Mrs D :D:D

What a lovely post. :D I can just imagine how you must be feeling and wondering if the bubble will burst as it seems far to good to be true. I really hope you go on and on getting your life back. You must be on a real high and you deserve it.

I have no idea what tomorrow will bring for you but I sincerely hope that is is as good as today and if I dare, to mention, much better.

As you say, make the most of it, think in the NOW.

I wish you all the very best,

    Luv
    Elna x
The happiest people don't have the best of everything. They just make the best of everything.

If you can lay down at night knowing in your heart that you made someone's day just a little bit better, you know you had a good day.

Thats great news, hope you continue to feel so well :)

Its nice to read of someone having a positive result from their meds, so many of you seem to be on different meds but still suffer a lot! Thats quite daunting for newly diagnosed folk to take in..... I havent started anything yet and from what I've read on here its like the meds may/may not help (gulp) plus looks like there'll be horrible side effects to put up with :(

MrsD, please keep us updated :)

    Hi,
I had the exact same response from my first dose of Humira and waited for it all to go wrong again but it didn't. I did have the odd dodgy day as is to be expected but on the whole it was fabulous, I felt like a new women. I'm off the Humira at the moment as we are trying for a baby but hope one day to go back on and get that feeling again! I hope it lasts for you! :)

I was just writing about this in another message, since I began taking Humira approx 20 injections ago, I have noticed a massive improvement, no more laying in bed stiff as a board trying to unravel myself, now quilt off and jumping out of bed, friends have even noticed and told me I am walking much better, I can walk further too, I have really felt the benefit, my blood tests seem to go up and down a lot, and are still between 22 - 47, thats how they fluctuate, do not understand why but I'm feeling great. :D
A big thumbs up to Humira, well almost my thumbs can't get there YET, but I feel anthing is possible with this drug. xxxx
