Hi
I don`t think I have spoken about this much, if at all , on here. But my consultant recommended that my daughter was checked by a paediatric orthopaedic dr for hip dysplasia, as it can be hereditary, more so in first born girls. So her appointment was this morning, and after a thorough examination and x rays he has said she does not have dysplasia, and although at 12 she has more growing to do , it is a tiny chance of it developing from now. I am so relieved! I was worried that I could have passed on this condition and the chances of needing surgery , or developing arthritis. She is a keen dancer and I was afraid that this could have been in jeopardy if dysplasia was diagnosed.
At last some good news to tell! :D
I have been with her to the appointment, so I have enjoyed a trip out in a car too. I need to rest this afternoon though
Hope you are all enjoying the sun 8)
Nicola

    Hi
thanks for your replies. I am very relieved, and so is my hubby. I didn`t dare think that she would be ok in case I tempted fate! The consultant was really thorough and took time to talk to us, so we felt like we got a good service. He operated on her foot when she was 3, a minor op, and wasn`t as willing to chat then, so I wasn`t expecting much.
Anyway, at least I won`t be watching her for signs of pain etc..
My son who is only 10 asked my mum if my daughter was going for a hip replacement today, as he knew she was going to the hospital! He was really worried for her!! I hadn`t thought to explain it to him too much but maybe i should have to prevent him worrying unnecessarily! Bless!
