Hi wendy57 my sister as just had her first physio and was fightened they would hurt her or make her do exercise that she would'nt be able to do. She has OA in her back ,they just talked to her and moved her legs around, they showed her a few exercises she could try but thought she would be better seeing the specialist. I think they just see if they can help and ask you about the pain if you hurt they dont push so dont worry to much. Hope all goes well ....alicea

    Hi wendy

I have had quite a few physio appointments in my time with different therapists and I have never had to do any exercises that hurt me. In actual fact the exercises should not be painful. It is very important that you get on with the physio because then you work together well. She sets you exercises but you must say if any cause you discomfort or you feel are too difficult to do. After all you know your own body better than anyone. Sometimes they give you ultrasound too if they feel this will help.

At the first session she will ask you lots of questions and examine you to find out exactly what the where the problem is.

I wish you well at your appointment. There really is nothing to worry about. They are there to help you.
