Hi
I have been on new medication and have had a really good week since. I am taking Arthrotec which is a type of Diclofenac. I wasnt able to take the regular kind because it was affecting my stomach. These are brill and In have also been able to manage pain with Paracetamol and hardly any Tramadol.I have been starting to get back into my exercise but am having difficulty with some chest pain which is new. Other than the arthritis I am physically fit and am usually able to run 10k with no problem. I went for a jog friday evening and had terrible pain in my chest which radiated through my back, it was so intense it made me stop exercising. I stopped for a while but then it came back shortly after I resumed training. When I would breathe init would become worse and my chest felt very tight. I basically just shrugged it off and forgot about it as i felt ok until i went for a run today and had the same feeling come back. I also had some pains in the tops of my shoulders too.
What could this be and could it be related to the new tablets??

Will do thanks. I'll hopefully be abe to gt an appointment by the end f the week. In the meantime I'll take things easy I think.
As a child, well up until about 4 years ago I had asthma but was told I had grown out of it. I am wondering now whether the tablaets could be triggering this!??!! I have been having quite a bit of wheezing and chest tightness since taking them and coughing. The only thing I didnt use to have with stham is the pain through my back and tops of my shoulders.

Hi, Your doing the right thing seeing your GP. If you have chest pain, maybe you should ask for an urgent appointment. I expect indigestion is the most likely cause, but the sooner get checked out the better. :) Love Sue

    Hi Bailey,

I agree with the others that you need an appoinment today, although sternum and lower rib pains does happen with RA you need to be cautious and get it looked at straight away.

I'm aware this could worry you but my husband had a heart attack last year and his chest pain moved to his back, shoulders and then jaw

It's always better to be safe than sorry.

Take it very easy till you do get seen.

    Hi Bailey

I agree with everyone else, you should get checked out. The end of the week for appointment! Doesn't your Dr. do emergency appointments, if yes could maybe get one of those.

    Hi
I will certainly try in the morning but you very rarely get seen at my surgery. The receptionists hate their jobs, they keep the phone off the hook until they have seen to all the people who queue up outside. Then when you do get through they say you should have rang sooner or should have come up earlier.

I am 28 and have kept physically fit all my life so am hoping it isnt anything too serious.

Since I had this yesterday I feel quite bruised in my chest and back around my ribs etc. I will definately try ad get na appointment.
    Thanks

    Hi Bailey

Sounds like typical Drs. receptionists, you know patients are a pain in the butt. You stop them from talking and drinking coffe, such a nuisance. Do occasionally get a nice one but I think their real job is to stop you seeing a Dr. :)
