Hi Everyone,
Just thought I'd pop in and say hello, as I've been lurking on & off for a couple of months. I was recently diagnosed with Sacroiliitis and prescribed Sulfasalazine.
I am now up to 3 per day, then next week to a final 4 per day. I've had headaches the past week, tired & my stomach has been burning..
I know AS can be a hallmark for Sacroiliitis but I assume I don't have this, well yet..hope never.
Does anyone else suffer from this or have you any experience of these medications. Thanks for any input.
Sue

Hi Vonski,
Thanks for your reply. I only started them 3 weeks ago today, starting at 1 first week, 2 second week & today I'm at 3.
My Rheumy did give me a number to call the Rheumatology nurse if I experienced any side effects, especially if it was feeling sick or headaches. But I wanted to hear others experience first before sounding dramatic to the nurse. I usually wait n wait or the alarm bells ring before I seek medical advice. I think I am only at the adjusting & adapting stage. I am also on prednisolone since January and I think the 2 are just telling my body, what's this.

Hi Sue
Yep it's all trial and error when you begin  You really should have something to protect your stomach though. I sound like an old woman  It wouldn't do any harm to ring nurse and check, I know a lot of people have had problems which have lasted a few weeks, hopefully someone will be along that can help more. I have oa so can't really offer any good advice Now that you're back on top of the board it should be seen by more peeps
