Chest Pain

Hi everyone. I have not posted for a while - been very busy and enjoying my life once again. But chilling out today, still in my Pj's! Well it is the school holidays!
I have got bad chest pain. I have had it for some time, it comes and goes but is bad today. Don't panic, I am sure I am not having a heart attack!
But it is on the right side, above the ribs but right inside. It is a sore pain, feels like I have pulled something. But don't think I have - as it comes and goes.
Just wondering if anyone else has experienced it? I think we have talked about it before, I have Reactive Arthritis - take sulphasalazine, hydroxycholriquine and paracetomal for pain. I did read somewhere that it can be caused by inflammation of the bone and interlinking tendons. Think it might be that.
I know you will all tell me to get to the drs asap!! I know he will only hand out more painkillers. Just wandered if anyone had any experience of this?
Well suppose I better get on with the washing up and get dressed!
Take care

Hi Fayann,
Inflammation of the ribs can cause pain, as can pleurisy which is inflammation of the lung lining. Both of these are relatively common but I think more so in arthritis sufferers. Sorry, but I am going to say you need to see the doctor just to be sure! Take care, hope you feel better soon!

Hi Fayann,
Like Josie said you probably should get it checked out in case. As a general the chest pain you don't want is like some to extremely bad cramp, and radiates badly often your left arm. Any kind of pain like that get on the phone.
I do have to say I get something simular to yours but I am worried because you should get some advice. If you don't want to go to the doctor why not phone NHS Direct (08454647) as they are very good and do help you to decide if you should see someone. I hope this has been of some help and don't take chances with chest pain. Take care, Cris0
