Married!!

Hi guys, don't know if you remember but I posted a while ago that I was getting married. Just wanted to let you know that the day was fantastic, we really enjoyed ourselves. The pair of us couldn't stop grinning all day. By about 10pm I was pooped but my new hubbie wanted to dance so I went up to the honeymoon suite with my sisters and cousin and had a cup of tea and a girly chat. It was lovely.
The honeymoon was a disaster though! We went to Egypt and my hubbie got his passport, wallet and phone stolen. He managed to get a new passport but when we came to leave the immigration officials refused him exit as he didn't have an entry stamp. He had a letter from the chief of police but it didn't make any difference. My phone then stopped working and my bank cards were stopped for a second time and we ended up homeless and penniless in Cairo for over 30hrs!! The british embassy were rubbish and our reps abandonned us!! Then it rained, for the first time in 2yrs - you can't make this stuff up!!!
We finally managed to get home but my feet were a mess and its taken a while to recover. I've now had my rutured tendons repaired so my left hand is totally in plaster for a few weeks. We both need a holiday now!!!!

Hi Jenzie
Congratulations :!:I'm so glad that you had a lovely wedding day,and that you weren't too exhausted by all the excitement.
What a nightmare in Egypt though. It must have been very frightening for you, wondering how you were going to get home.Thank goodness you sorted it out and returned safely.
Now you have got the rest of your life as a married lady to look forward to :!: I hope you will be very happy together. Marrying my husband 43 years ago was the best thing I ever did

Congratulations on your marriage! I hope that you and your new hubby have many happy years together, and a very bright future. You will have to save up and go another wee holiday to make up for what happened in Egypt! xx0

Hi, yes I remember you saying you were getting married. I'm glad you had a really good day but sad about your honeymoon. Such a let down after your great day. But, you can always take another holiday but you'll never have another day like your Wedding. Here's hoping you both have many happy years together!0

Congratulations Missus! Our wedding party ended up quite literally a riot (I won't go into details) and although it was upsetting at the time now 7 years later we laugh about it and tend to remember the good things about it. I'm sure you will do the same with your honeymoon memories eventually!!!0

That is so true. We got engaged in Rhodes in 2001, my hubby went down on one knee in the middle of the street and just brought this gorgeous ring out. No joke, this wifey comes down the road. Try and imagine a Greek chav, obviously the body language of what was happening was clear in any language. She walks right past us and I swear it - she clears her throat really loudly and does a big huge gob next to us! We were just stunned in silence, but now we laugh about it, we'll never forget it. That greek woman and her shellsuit0 -
Many congratulations on your marriage and many commiserations on your Egyptian experience!
With every good wish for the future.

marriage always seems to be the best thing I have done, I can't believe how young and innocent we were then (well sort of!). Well done
8) Its a grin, honest.
p.s. we couldn't afford a bed for the first year and made a bed up on the floor, perhaps I should blame my problems on that!0 -

Hi
Your story of the bed made me laugh. When we came back from honeymoon, we had £13 left between us! We moved into a flat which cost £3.7s.6d a week to rent (now you can tell how long ago it was!)We had looked at another flat, but that was £5 a week, and we couldn't afford that. Our flat was unfurnished, and we only had one chair, so we used to argue as to who's turn it was to sit on it :!:
Happy days :!:

Thanks everyone!
As we plodded round Cairo we kept saying it will become a funny story in years to come! It seems a lot funnier now we're home. If we can survive that we can survive anything!!
My hand is ok I think, its nice (for a while) to be let off the cooking and cleaning although I'm pretty bored with it already! I just want to be able to put my contacts in and tie my shoes. I can however, wash my hair and put my bra on one handed with only a minimum amount of contortions!0
