I've been diagnosed with OA but a the moment I'm going through a very good spell. So good that I'm not on any medication at the moment. Unfortunately the last few days I've been plagued with really bad headaches and neck pain. These seem to to start when I'm in bed or my head is rested on the back of a chair. They are so bad they disturb my sleep and wake me up. Do you think they could be connected to the OA? I would appreciate any views on the problem (not so bad compared to others). Thank you.

I suffer from OA in my neck and I do suffer from tension headache but not bad to take medication. If you suffer from OA in neck, then most likely your headache and neck pain are related.

    Hi Apt905,
Its hard to say that it is connected and there are many reasons for head aches. I have some problems with them but I also had inflamation in the brain and though I have got advanced spondylitis in my neck they still can't work out what causes them I also have vertigo and its been put down to that, my age, my brain and anything else that is passing by!
I think if they are waking you it might be an idea to pop into your doctors and see if they can help. I hope they will stop as they are horrible if they really rev up. take care and good luck.

I get that with my OA in my neck. The memory foam pillow and amatriptylne helps though. Love Sue
