AFTER a 2 year wait I got me Tnf drug I been ill with other stuff so i never thought i get the drug The drug arrived yesterday i thought i won the lottery.
I read the good stuff and the bad stuff about the drug but to me its a life line i can now only grip with 2 fingers in each hand .
Today being good friday i never thought the nurse would turn up but she did.
So easy to do yes it does sting a bit but who cares Yes i do know it might not work but thats the same in all parts of our lifes. I even put red tape on the middle shelf of the fridge any one going on my red zone will have there hands choped off
Life to me is for living smilling and laughing even in my darkest pain i pull the smile threw today i will start a new life full of hope and fun

I have just picked up my first two doses from the pharmacie today ready for the big day on Wednesday. I'd ordered the 'pen' but have two syringes instead, which isn't a problem as the nurse will do the first couple before I have to learn to do them myself, for which I'd prefer the pen!
Anyway, I have had it drummed in to me that if I'm feeling a bit poorly on Humira day (cold, sore throat, sniffles - anything off colour really!) I must go and see my doctor to have my temperature taken to ensure I don't have a fever.
Why? And what happens if take my dose if I do have a temperature....what will happen to me then?! :?0 -
Hi,
These drugs can mask other illness and infections and in some cases if you get an infection or illness they stop the drug untill you are better then restart you.
Glad to hear your happy your starting the treatment and i hope it works well for you.

I have to say, I really do view Humira as a wonder drug. Before I started it I was on morphine, in constant pain, depressed, had a bit of a limp, tired all the time, Im sure you know how it is! Ive been on it for 3 years now. My life now is more or less how it was before I started getting symptoms of RA. In that 3 years ive only been ill once with a chest infection but it cleared up normally. Its my poor hubby that catches all the bugs whilst Im always fine! The only other drug I take now is Etodolac (Lodine). I do get the odd stiff day but they are few and far between and dont usually require any painkillers. Ive had no side effects from the Humira. Doing the injections yourself is nervy at first but you get used to it and I enjoy watching my squemish hubby squirm and leave the room when I set up to do them. Hehe!!0
