    Hi Jackie,

I still have wine and I'm on Mtx 10mg as you know. A spirit might be a bit strong the day before you take it though - it might be wise to abstain being as it's your first dose - sorry :( When you've been on it a few weeks see how you go then when your bloods have been monitored.

    Luv Legs :(

PS Will copy this to your other post in the hope you recieve it before you imbibe

Hope that you don't get hit by the alcalol as hard as I do. Small glass of wine and in bed for 3 days. b010.gif

    Yet others are OK.

PS Have just seen you're still on line.

If you've already had your 'last orders' don't worry. I think if you take your Mtx and when your bloods are monitored that should flag up any changes in you LFT. My Rheumy said have a drink as normal but if your bloods show up anything we'll talk again.

PPS Will copy this to Chit Chat just to try to catch you!!

    Hi,
salsal, well I poured myself a double and have kept adding water to it ever since! The nurse who counselled me on the MTX did actually say it was ok to 'drink in moderation'.

Joseph - hope I don't take after you

Linda, I kept bobbing between postings to see if I'd had a reply! As you can see, I'd already indulged before I read your postings.
I think I needed a whisky or two tonight..... started getting the collywobbles thinking about the MTX tomorrow :|

Also I was thinking maybe by teatime tomorrow the alcohol will have left my bloodstream/body before the MTX hits :?:

    Hi Colin,
When the nurse counselled me on the MTX she asked if I drank. I said yes, but that for the last 6 weeks I'd become practically teetotal in readiness for when I started MTX. She then went on to say alcohol was alright in moderation........ that surprised me!

Tonight it was actually more 'medicinal' I've got Pre-MTX Nerves and needed to chill.

    Hi Jackie

I'm no expert on this  but a friend of mine who is on this used to like a whisky or many more. She didn't drink to start off but eventually admitted to her Rheumy that she'd had 3 and told him she was ok but needed more. He said she could try up to 6 which she has done and is still ok. May not be the same for everyone though.

Hi scottish lass, Thanks for repy, think I'll risk the odd glass (or two) occasionally :)

vonski, hi, just wondering about your friends '6' ration - is that six drinks in one night, over a week, or longer? (Sounds like my kinda friend  )

Rita, Thank you for your good wishes...... gosh I was so nervous taking that first dose  Its the morning after and so far I'm feeling okay - touch wood.

    Hi Jackie

Not sure but I will find out, sure she'll be trying for more if 6 is ok :) I'll find out how long she'd been taking it too although she's only been on it around a year so I think it would have been sooner rather than later.

How are you feeling now, has everything settled down? Hope so.

    Hi Jackie

Sorry it's taken me a while to get back to you with this one. My friend drinks 7 or 8 whiskies a week. She has just seen her Rheumy and he says that's fine. Her bloods etc are all ok so he has no problem with her drinking this much. She would like more
