    Really glad to hear all is going well for you Anne! Try and get the right mix of rest and activity so as not to overdo it-know that must be hard - like you say, you can look forward to doing some of the things that have been too difficult recently!
    Kind regards,
    Josie :wink:

    Hi Anne,

    So happy things went well for you :D:D

    I had to 'learn' to walk again when I had bi-laterals but that sounds a bit dramatic and scary for those who've not had it done. I recovered quickly and was glad I'd had them done at the same time, I think it would have been harder to face another operation six weeks after the first. :shock:

    As others have said don't overdo things - you've been through major stuff :D

    Enjoy your new legs. :lol::lol:

    Hi Anne
    You are very brave having both knees done, and I'm so glad it has gone well for you. It must be marvellous to be without so much pain. I am trying to make up my mind whether to have my knee done, so people like you give me more confidence. Take care, and don't try to run before you can walk, as they say. :lol:

    Well done having both knees done at the same time. :D I had a full hip replacement done in January this year and relied on my other leg to get me in and out of bed, going up and down stairs etc. How are you able to to do those things when both your knees must be both sore , stiff and weak. :?

    Congratulations on your bi-lateral TKR! I was offered two at once but declined as I was unsure as to how I would cope at the age of 73.

    The left was done on 30 March and I feel each day is an improvement but will wait 9 months to a year before I have the right done. The surgeons seem to have got the procedure down to a fine art and I had good after care from the orthopaedic outreach and physio teams.

    I think a hip replacement is maybe harder work than a knee it sounds harder! It was a surpise to me as well that I managed so well but it was so hard to walk etc before the op anything was better had the staples out yesterday nasty! Worse thing is nagging back pain from epidural which hopefully will go in time Anne

    Hi Brian I think you have done the right thing both my knees were shot but at 56 I have got a little bit of youth on my side! :wink: I would think that after 70 plus the leg lifts alone would be hard enough, if I have to have them re-done in 15 years it will be one at a time no way both again!
