Hi everyone
I am so worried, I have an appointment with the consultant on the 22nd, and I would be over the moon if they said that I didn't have arthritis, as noone wants that diagnosis. But on the other hand I would be in dispare, I have swollen hands (can't take my wedding ring off), swelling below my ankle bones, swelling in the soft parts below my knee caps, pain in my hips and pain in my back. If it isn't arthritis then what is it. The waiting is driving my up the wall.
The strangest symptom I have is a band of hard swelling above both knees, which has been there for sometime. My legs seem bigger somehow, but not so anyone would notice.
My doctor did blood tests which came back as normal. Could this still be arthritis?
Thanks for your help.
Lisa

hi,i know its a big worry without the diagnosis.but when u get dx it might seem a relief to have a name to the pain.then get ur medication sorted out.i got so frustrated before dx no pain relief, being fobbed off & having to give up a job i loved i felt like my world had fell apart, but my o/h has been so supportive,i never expected him to stand by me through all of this, but he has.
i have oa also other conditions,i have no swelling as such, only right thumb which is double the size it should be.but pain in all joints, cervical & lumber spond.cracking noises in all joints.
i also have limited range of movement 70% in neck & ive lost a third of the use of my arms(ie lifting arms above head)but im slowly finding diffent ways of doing things, slowly & what i cant do or struggle to do i have to ask for help(thats the hardest bit for me)try not to worry to much(easier said than done i know)but were all here for a moan at,advice or anything else u want to chuck at us cause were all in the same boat.debsx0 -
hi lisa
the bloods i had taken at doctors came back fine twice it was only when i went to see the rhumy and he did more blood tests and xrays that then they found out i have RA.
i had swelling in my fingers and could hardly move middle finger and thumb but was given an injection and has made it loads better.
i was only diagnosed 2 wks ago so think i am still in shock.
wish you all the best let us know how you get on.0
