Hi
Every now and then I get a numb feeling in my foot/toes, and sometimes index finger. The toes or finger go white and seem to lose colour and look waxy and feels cold. I don`t feel pins and needles just wierd type of numb. Its as though all the blood has drained out.
It lasts for a while sometimes an hour or so then regains colour and feeling. It just comes on by itself, and goes awat too. I try massage and rubing the area but it doesn`t reall ydo any thing to change things.
Does any one else get this??

Hi NB
Could it be Raynauds disease? That is what springs to mind because I have heards others on the forum talk about it every now and again and I know someone who has it as well.
Why not google and see.
Here's hoping you and your new hip are the best of friends!

Hi Nearly,
Mine do it all the time, even in summer and for me it's acrocynosis. Elna is almost certainly right that you should get checked out for Raynaud's. Has it only started recently? See with the acro thing and Raynaud's it's from birth but my father has raynaud's ad his didn't start to show till he was 40. I find moving the fingers helps, fingerless gloves and if all else fails put them in hot water..... but don't get chilblains.
I hope it soon gets blood in them again, hows all the exercise etc with your hip doing? Well I hope. Take care Cris0 -
hi Cris and Elna
I did wonder about Raynauds. It started in finger a year or so ago, and in foot a few months ago, opposite foot to operated leg. I will ask dr about it when I see him next week.
My hip is doing ok, I keep doing the exercises, but trying not to overdo it as my bursitis plays up then!
I am have less pain overall in that leg so that is good, I just need to sort the other one out and hopefully my back will settle too!!
Hope you are having a good Bank Holiday!

I get that in my foot - thought I may have Reynaud's as my dad does in his fingers. It's the foot that is busy fusing itself as well, so I did wonder if some of it could be down to not being able to wriggle toes. My foot can be icy cold when it's hot and sunny outside - the surgeon commented on it when went for steroid injections last week. Complicated things, bodies, aren't they?! Hope you are having a nice weekend, regards, Josie0

Hi Nearly and Josie, (and you as well Elna x)
If you two have problems like that you should either as to see a cardiac/vascular person or Josie if you already see a Rumo talk to them about it. It can be a problem and though the drip I have is for the rally bad circulation they can use either tablet dilateries or Nefi something or other to help open the capillaries and veins up a bit. You need good circulation to heal...... Hope you also enjoy your bank holiday. x0 -
Hi
I have Raynauds in my toes and fingers.
They go white and have blotchy purple coloured marks. Then small blister type lumps appear not always but more so in the fingers or toes that go numb.
I find when I get the lumpy things on my toes and fingers ebforehand I usually get a burning pain deep in the boney structure beneath it. I also find that under my finger nails they go very white with purple marks aswell, I put this down to the raynauds.
Hope that helps.0 -
hi Bailey
Thanks for that info. I don`t get any lumps or blisters that I`ve noticed. And its not exactly painful, just uncomfortable.

I thin it is worth checking out. I was treating my toes and fingers as chilblains. My mum and gran both thought that was what it was before I went to my GP.
Maybe its just another one of those horrible symptoms we all experience, not very pleasant and often unexplained!
hope you feel better soon!0
