Hi
I have my first Rheumy appointment next monday and was wondering what they might do. I have asked before what to expect and know they will probably send me for x-rays, bloods and examine me.

What am I likely to come away with?

Will I come back with medication and not see them for another 6 months?

I am interested to know what happens after this.

    Hi

Just want to wish you well with your appointment next week. You may well leave with a prescription and probably will not have another appointment for a good few weeks. Depends if they wish to see you when they get results from xrays, blood tests etc or these results are sent to your gp. They may mention a rheumy nurse that you will be able to liaise with more readily should you wish, inbetween appointments with the rheumy.

No doubt you will have a list of questions to ask when you have your appointment. I hope you have a good rapore with the rheumy. This makes all the difference as it does with any appointment one has regarding ones health.

    Best wishes,
    Elna
The happiest people don't have the best of everything. They just make the best of everything.

If you can lay down at night knowing in your heart that you made someone's day just a little bit better, you know you had a good day.

    Hi Bailey
just to wish you all the best for your appointment. Mine consisted of blood tests, a thorough exam of all joints, and at a later date, was sent for a scan to detect inflammed joints, a chest X ray and eye test due to the initial meds i was put on. I had to wait for the result of all the tests before he would put me on any medication and the eye doctor was really slow in reporting back and it took quite a while to get sorted! Hopefully yours will go well. Good luck. Keep us posted

    Hi Bailey

Just wanted to wish you well for your appt next week. Don't forget to mention those purple blisters and marks under your nails. Would be great if you had a photo to show the rheumy of them. I hope he gets you sorted with meds straight away.

    Hi Bailey,

I should also like to wish you good luck as well. Do tell him about your hands and the circulation thing as it's the Rumo's that treat it all. That's why I first went to see one.

    Take care, Cris

Thanks for that I will keep you all posted.

I have started to compile a long list problems to mention!!

I am getting quite excited strangely, as I have so much hope building on this appoitnement. I am looking forward to getting this sorted out once and for all, or at least get the symtoms eased up.

    Thanks everyone!
