Can anyone tell me if arthritis in children affects the small joints of the feet? Especially the big toes.

Thanks

He is 11. The toes are terrible. He does play a lot of football, but I don't know anyone else with this problem. Its the joints directly under the big toenail. Can these be affected.

    Thanks

Thank you so much for your reply. Your description sounds exactly like my sons toes. I have posted in the helpline section as well. I am going to ask his consultant at his next visit. Thank you again. You have put my mind at rest.

It must have been very painful for you. What type of arthritis do you have? Hope you don't mind me asking.

Hi debatat I hope you might get some answers and things sorted out when you and your son see his consultant at his next visit. My arthur went in remission for some years and I got on well at work but it came back in 1998 and I had to give up work I had JA then I got OA and RA has stayed with me unfortunantly????
