Shoe joy!

This is really for the ladies amongst us (sorry guys, research any mens shoes! ) Just had to share the joy of finding a pair of shoes in a shop (as opposed to the NHS' finest offerings! ) that fit and are as comfortable as anything is at the mo!:lol: Decided would have a look round as foot is bit better after the steroids at the mo, as have friends wedding in summer and footwear causes far bigger headache than the outfit! Don't know if I can say the shops, but will have a go: BHS had loads of really soft leather flatties in various colours and styles and M&S had fair bit of choice in the footglove range. Am sure noone else understands the joy of finding something that both looks nice and is wearable without screaming, except those who struggle with painful feet. Was so happy I sat wearing them in front of the telly last night so I could admire them! Anyway, may be worth a look if you are searching for shoes.
Josie

:D:D So happy for you that you found some comfy and nice looking shoes. :D:D It is a nightmare isn't it? I do not have arthritis in my feet - yet - but have a very broad foot, size 8 and a bunion on one foot.

Perhaps you had better start "wearing them in" around the house, as well as sitting in them.:lol:

    Take care

    Hi Josie,

Must be a girl thing but I can just imagine you with your feet up last night admiring your shoes - a bit like someone who's just got engaged and keeps spreading her fingers to admire her ring :lol:

    Good advice from Elna.

I'm only able to wear surgical footwear so I can imagine your joy in finding them - I shall think of you when I'm in my Olive Oyl boots.

    Luv Legs :D

PS I was told by the moderators that they don't mind us mentioning shop names like we would in any normal conversations between friends.

 That's just what I was doing! I'm sure some people would wonder what on earth is worth getting so excited about, but for those of us with severe limitations of footwear it's a big deal-I get quite depressed about it. Am hoping that after the fusion  I will have a little less restriction on footwear (here's hoping!)

    Hi Josie,
The toe fusion will help you so much, I had 3 done on my left foot and it has made so much difference it really has. I understand your shoe thing as I do it with Hunters......... There wellies, but nice posh ones that are so comfy...... ell I'm sad! x

I hope so - it's taken me quite a while to decide it's the best way forward and the hospital do have concerns about my age, although they will do it if I choose. I have an appointment in about a month as a follow up from the steroid injections and intend to tell them I want to be put on the waiting list. Enjoy the hunters - do they do them in jazzy patterns yet?!

    Hi Josie,

They will take good care of you and their are many different types of gas, I have a lovely one as the conventional one doesn't suit me, so don't let that worry you. They really will take good care of you.
They do for kids but adults so far it just green and navy..... I have a pair of each and ones for 'Best' and I shall shut up now........
You take care and my advice is always to go for he opp as the pain you have now will either half or go but I am lucky, I am not scared of anesthetic. Cris x

Thankyou - a couple of you have said you have successfully had toes fused, so that makes me feel better. My biggest worry is that I will end up with more problems with it, and I think their reluctance is that I'm going to be stuck with it for many years if it doesn't suit me! Saying that, though, the benefits outweigh the risks as far as I'm concerned....just hope they have some good painkillers for afterwards!! You take care of that back!!!!
