Hi,Can anyone tell me if always feeling cold is a side effet of OA? No matter how warm it it is in the house or outdoors,I still feel cold and the only time I do feel warm is when I'm in bed.My hands are always icy cold, except when I have a flare up and then they become really hot. When everyone is in shorts sleeves in the summer,I still need a sweater or cardigan just to feel comfortably warm.Am I the only one who has this problem? :? Breane.

    Hi Breane
I am a very cold person too.
Don't know if it's relevant with arthur, but the only time I am warm is when I have a flare too!!!
    Hot baths - they help!!
Hope you are doing ok otherwise?

    Hi Breane,
There isn't a link between oa and raynaud's but there is between ra and raynaud's. saying that you can still have both. If your hands go white with lack of blood then get your self checked out for raynaud's, if they go cold and go purple get your self checked out for other circulatory things. Have a look back on the recent threads as there is a link about this. Take care and try and stay warm as it makes you hurt less. Cris

hi,i did do a post on this a little while ago & no your not alone.
my hands & feet r always icy cold.im freezing cold when others r sweating.i sit most evenings with a 2nd jumper on & a blanket over me.i have oa,i will be mentioning this to my rhymy when i see him on the 27th.i have also had sinus infections & now battling an ear infection that antibiotics havent work on,into its 4th week.
i sleep with 2 duvets on the bed & my o/h is laying on top of the bed because he's to hot.
if i get any answers from rhymy about this i will post,as im questioning raynauds disease as a possible cause.
    get warm soon  debsx

    Hi Breane
I've got RA and i'm always cold. I do have Raynaud's though as well. My friends all tease me because i wear thick tights under my jeans and a pair of socks well into the summer. (what summer!!)
I live on a farm and have to be outside a lot and i just wear so many layers.
I always wear socks in bed too even in the summer as my feet are too cold to sleep otherwise. Occasionaly i allow one of my cats to replace my socks though but they are a bit heavier!!

    Take care love Gillx

    Hi Scotishlass,
Pound shop fingerless ones are so good..... Going to try some of the silver ones, it's meant to keep you warm and help with the circulation as well. Take care, Cris
