hi all,ive been to my 2nd rhymy appointment today & horray for progress.
ive been for more blood tests,2 sent to 1 dept(i presume for rf tests)& 2nd to a different dept.he was checking for raynauds i think.but he didnt say so.just a guess as i had alot to take in.
he's refered me to pain specialist.
im to have 4 injections,1st 2,left knee & right thumb. then 2nd right knee & neck.
ive got to stay for 2hrs after injections, cant drive & im to rest for 2 days after, not allowed to do anything
then ive to have xrays on lower back cause he thinks i may have a trapped nerve.
he could see i was struggling with walking as soon as i walked in.did a full examination, said the pain in shoulders & arms was coming from my neck, the pain specialist is because im on so many painkillers.
but as usual i never asked enough questions, thats were you good people are a godsend.
so here goes,do the injections sound like steriod injections,& why stay 2hrs after then have to rest for 2 days?
the pain specialist is this the same a pain management clinic?
sorry to ask but as usual i bolted from appointment & just wanted to get bloods done & get home.it'll be a long post if i ask any more questions.thanks debsx

    Hi Debs,

I am glad you are having the real once over and I hope all of it will help you. My pain clinic doctor is a pain specialist so yes. They normally are steroids and local but there are other kinds, they tend to start you with the normal steroid ones first. They'll keep you in because they are doing so many in one go I expect.

Glad there are doing something and really hope it will work for you. Cris x
Debs I miss read it, theu keep you 2 hrs as they want you to rest after the jabs and you may be lucky and have sedative x

    Hi Debs,

I really hope they did check you for raynaud's! It sounds like it and they certainly should have. Last time I saw mine he sent me for all kinds of tests and x rays, I glad yours is a thorough and hope the results are nothing to worry about. At least they are at last going to help you and I found the injections in my lumber and neck really helped........ Ask for sedative.......

One eye is working the other hasn't come back yet and is hurting some just now. The back and I still hate each other..... Nothing new there and it is being beaten into submission..... slowly.... I just did some unexpected armchair duties and will have to do evening duties at 100 mph before dusk!
You take care and put your feet up all those tests you have earned it. Cris x
