Hello,
This really isn't my week. All week I've felt a bit under the weather, but just put it down to stress. Then last night I started a UTI, really, really painful :!: :x . Luckily this morning I managed to get an appointment with my GP, and the test showed an infection, with blood & protein in the specimen. Anyway, I've got antibiotics and I'm drinking lots, so hopefully it will soon go End of moan. At least its a good excuse not to do the housework!
Love Sue

Thanks everyone :-) Yes, UTIs are painful, I had one years ago but yes, cranberry juice is brilliant for it.
Has anyone tried cranberry juice and lemonade? Yummy, goes down much easier!

Hi Sue
Cystitis ouch. Cranberry juice is supposed to help like Nina has mentioned but I think it works better undiluted. Good job it's nice

Lemon and barley water is also good (I think it's the barley that helps the lemon just makes it taste better) - Robinsons make it.
Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks every one. My husband got me some Cranberry juice. Poor thing, I asked him to get unsweetened, meaning not sugar, sweetener. He went round several shops before comming back with the one I wanted, saying 'Sorry, I cann't get unsweetened they don't make it, only sugar free!!! I should have remembered, you have to tell him exactly what you want, as he takes it literally. He is such a love, but I can't help laughing, although I suppose I didn't put it very well! Love Sue0

Poor you, I'm sure that's the last thing you need just now what with everything else that's going on. As you said drink plenty. I always find when I get my recurrent infections, barley water works the best, they say it's an old wive's tale but it does work! As other's said cranberry is good too. Make sure you get plenty rest and remember to take the pills! xxx0

Snap, went to my GP's yesterday for sick note, med check etc. Took sample as I was feeling more yuk than usual, UTI, more antibiotics, I drink loads of water, cranberry etc. 4th infection since August when I started Methotrexate, neither suffered before and to put the icing on the cake I've a cold as well. Hope you feel better soon and you have a wonderful husband.
The sun is shining outside and trying to decide if I can face the bank holiday crowds and go to Victorian Extravaganza in Llandudno. Hope everyone has a great Bank Holiday weekend. Fay0 -
