You could try seeing your Rheumy about it first, if there's any change in medication that could help?

Also, it helps to actually REST when you're tired, but we're not very good at doing that! Save any chores you have for the morning or early evening when you're feeling more with it and save the afternoon to relax and listen to music, read or watch the TV. Make it something to look forward to, if that's possible.

I forgot to ask - do you work? Do you have kids? How does that affect you?

My problem times are early morning or evening. I can't seem to get myself going in the mornings (it doesn't help that I've never been a morning person) and in the evenings I'm usually knackered from trying to cram everything into one day. I'm not very good at taking my own advice!

hi oh yes i work 5 days a week (school hours), i get home from picking my son up and i am shattered.... i'm not very good at resting either. so i do the usual stuff, tidy up, any jobs that need doing, so when i do sit down and my son is in bed, i am so tired i go to bed early.
I feel lazy, even though i know there is a reason for feeling shattered. I miss my energy

Hi, I'm sorry you feel so tired, you have a very busy life, by the sound of it. If you have a son, it makes it harder to rest, I,m sure. I have OA and no kids unfortunatly, but I still get tired. My GP says pain alone makes you tired. I hope you can have a nice rest over this bank holiday and feel better next week. Love Sue

Hi there, i suffer with RA and my tiredness seems to come on across lunchtime to early afternoon some days especially in the winter months i have to lay down as the fatigue is so strong i feel exhausted and cannot do anything, but just lately with the weather becomming a bit warmer i just tend to go outside for a little walk and the tiredness passes :D

I always try to have a 'siesta' after lunch, either have a sleep or just lie down and relax; if I don't I get incredibly fatigued and need to lie down for longer!

Like today, I felt okay so didn't bother with my 'siesta' then found myself literally falling asleep at 3.30pm - managed 1/2 hours rest but then had to get tea ready etc From about 6.30 I felt completely drained and lay on the couch watching tv 'til 9pm.

    Have 'come round' now!

I only work part-time and am off at the moment, don't know how I'll be when I go back :?:

    Hi there
I find when my RA isnt being well controlled the tiredness comes on big time. Feels like ten ton weights on all your limbs and all you want to do is sleep. Maybe you need to get your meds sorted/changed.
    Take care love Gillx
