hi everyone, I haven't posted on this site for a very long time, so just to recap on things I was diagnosed with sero neg RA in nov2007 and was put on mtx which i have responded to very well, I take 20mg on a monday and 3 folic acids per week. my arthritis is being managed well, but last week I wasn't very well in myself I was having dizzy spells alot at the begining of the week, the only way i can discribe it is if i was drunk but I wasn't. then by the thursday and friday I had sickness and was feeling rather fatigued and feverish. On the saturday (a week today) I felt alot better so I went out done a bit of shopping came home and wot not and then all of a sudden I started seeing double I thought it would pass but by sunday i still had this so I phoned the nhs direct explained what had happened, and they advised I sould go to the hospital to be checked so I did and the doctor there said it sounds is if my biocular vision has gone he checked my eyes but he could see anything un toward and advised I sould see my own doctor to put me forward to see a speicalist.
So the next day I went to my Doctor (i could see my usual one) explained everything and he said my vision was most probably effected by my medication and advised me to have an eyetest at the opticians, which I have done in specsavers and they said I have a slight turn in my right eyeand that explianed why I was seeing double and i'm alittle short sighted to, so I got to wear glasses.
I just wanted to know is there anyone here where their eyesight has been affected by taking their medication.Thankyou.

    Hi Sue,

How awful for you - are you still seeing double? I'm on Mtx and it hasn't affected me that way at all.

I hope you get it sorted as it's a shame this has happened being as though you're getting on well with the drug arthritically. Maybe it's not the Mtx and just a virus that's upset your system - still I'm not medically informed, just hoping for you really.
