Hi everyone

Just wanted to let you know that it's 6 months to the day since I had my TKR - a bit of a landmark!

Things seem to be going well. My mobility is fantastic and the bending is improving. Stairs up are no problem and only the steepest stairs down still challenge me.

Still get some pain which is a bit disappointing but nothing like the pain and stiffness I had pre-op.

I want to thank everyone on this forum for all the support and advice you've given me both pre- and post-op. You've been great!

Here's to the next 6 months of continued recovery.

Wendy

    Hi Wendy

Yes, you are doing well. :D:D Today, for me it is one year, 4 months and one day since my operation!

It is good that we can help out others that have had or are going to have a TKR and ask questions. There is nothing like advice from someone who has actually had the operation, is there? We all react differently, after receiving the replacement, but we all get there in the end!!

Hope your day is going well,

    Luv
    Elna

That's brilliant Wendy, it must have been worrying going for the op but it sounds like you did the right thing. It must be giving you a whole new lease of life. Definitely worth celebrating!

Good news Wendy - it's hard to believe you were so unsure before you had it done. You enjoy it.

5 months today since my TKR. Still have sore days, but like you nothing like the pain before I got it done. I have felt that the improvement each month is unreal, i was just a bit impatient and wanted it immediately

    Hi Wendy

I'm glad to hear that things are going so well for you. When I first joined this site, you sent me an informative message which was very reassuring about knee replacements. I was very grateful to you for taking the trouble to explain things so well to me. So far, I am managing reasonably well after my arthroscopy, although I think the day will probably come when I have to go for the replacement. Thank you for being so encouraging, and I hope you will go from strength to strength in the future.

Wendy, well done and thanks for the advice you've given me. I hope I will be able to climb stairs properly soon, rather than one step at a time!
