Hello everyone
I'm feeling a bit grumpy so I thought I'd "share" with you! Isn't life miserable enough when it's raining without it making us ache??? My knees and ankles hurt, my left shoulder feels "dodgy" and not quite there (I'm sure you know what I mean), my fingers hurt but they've got quite loose because of the typing I do at work (but I'm sure they'll hurt more tonight and stiffen up) and my hair is going to go frizzy.
I'm sorry, I know the last one isn't particularly important compared to the pain but doesn't it feel nice to know you look the best you can? I have very curly, unmanageable hair which I alternatively straighten and leave curly with each wash but when it gets wets, forget any attempt to make it behave. It will do whatever it likes.
So I decided today that although I ache, I was going to wear some nice girlie shoes, thick black tights and a dress to work. OK, I do feel a bit wobbly on my feet but I sit down all day and the heels are only about 2 inches high (quite small compared to most of my other heels). Yes, I'll probably regret it later and not be able to wear them tomorrow, but at least today I feel girlie!
Rant over... and breathe!

Hi my hair is frizzy, and I find it hard to do myself as my arms ache, so I decided to go to the hairdressers last week, but couldn't get an appointment. I washed and sort of blow dryed it and it was OK for 1 day. Its horrible now so I ought to make an appointment but can't be bothered! Love Sue0

I have naturally curly hair too but straighten it, like that redhead off the Apprentice before I touch it. It is easy to straighten than tame it! I'd love to have a girly day but as you said I would regret it. It's such a shame as I have hundreds of shoes, lovely mary janes and vintage ones but since my back got severe I've lived in my Nike Air. At least they are going to good use, my 3 year old loves raiding my wardrobe and pinching them to dance about in, kiddies in shoes too big for them trying to dance0

What are heels :?
I think I look stunning in my frock and Olive Oyl black boots - anyone seen Popeye :?:
........ you go for it Nina and enjoy feeling girly it's sometimes worth the price we have to pay, but if I were you I'd take a change of shoes just in case it gets too much.

Thanks everyone for your replies - at least I'm not alone in thinking "yes, it will be painful, but I want to look nice!"
My feet are aching a bit now but I'm off home... in the car :-)

The blokes reading this topic must think we are all totally mad!! I used to love my heels But they all sit gathering dust - haven't heart to just give away, we all think maybe one day again don't we!
I know my O/H loves ladies in heels but I haven't been able to wear for 5 years now. The first time we went to New York he bought me some beautiful ones but I can't wear at all :-(
I also tend to live in jeans too now as trainers look awful with skirts & dresses don't they so they don't get aired either.

Good for you Nx .... brilliant ... I love your attitude.
You're one tough cookie.0 -
Hi Fayrose
It's a lot easier to be a tough cookie when you're sitting down all day and drive to and from work :-) I'm also prone to taking my shoes off when sitting at my desk anyway!
My mum has a special look when I'm wearing my highest heels (which I haven't worn for a while) and now I have arthritis, she loves telling me "I told you so". I'm probably just trying to rebel against her by wearing my heels!
My knees and feet feel no better or worse for wearing heels yesterday so I've got them on again today!
Oh, a fashion tip, I think trainers can look cute with flowery dresses :-)
