Hi there,
I've been on it for almost a year now, and it has completely changed my life. Was previously on sulfasalazine and hydroxychloroquine neither of which worked. I was starting to improve from a flare when I started Azathioprine, but still think the actuall drug has caused most of the improvement.
The biggest unkown is how you will react to it, everyone is different, and unfortunately the only way to find out is to try it and see.
You do have to be careful of your skin in the sun though - I burn easily anyway, but with aza on board its even worse. Think the recommendation is to try and stay out of the sun completely, but its a small price to pay for better quality of life.
Good luck with it.
