Hi, I would ask at your local gym or even phone a local personal trainer. Most would do it relatively cheap (I do mine for £10 at the gym I work in). Most personal trainers also come to your home so that will make it easier for you.
It will consist of them measuring skinfolds usually from 7 sites on your body namely shoulder blade, hip, tricep, calf....then the measurements are added up and then there is a chart which tells you for your gender and age. It is more accurate than this BMI measurement.
My brother in law plays rugby for the local rugby club and is a solid build yet with barely an ounce of fat on him and his BMI come in at 39!!!!!!!! lol
If you want to find Personal Trainer in your area visit the REPs website. This is a nationally recognised company which provides details of all reputable personal trainers in your area.
Hope this helps!!

Thanks for refreshing - I have a bit of an update actually. I rejoined Weight Watchers a couple of weeks ago as doing it by myself wasn;t working and have already lost five and a half pounds so am pretty chuffed.
I'm trying to keep up with swimming twice a week too although sometimes it really hurts my wrist - an extra diclofenic seems to sort that out though0 -

That's brilliant news, keep it up! I go swimming on Sunday morning with the kids and also there's a free aerobics class at work on Thursday evenings. I try to go on my Wii Fit most days for 20-25 minutes depending on how well I feel but even if I'm stiff or sore, I try to do a few minutes of yoga.
I used to be quite lazy but the RA has given me the incentive to exercise more - isn't that weird? I suppose it can only be a good thing.

Hi, Did anyone see that programme about dieting on, I think, Wednesday evening. It was presented by a doctor and looked at the scientific reasons we loss weight and the best foods to eat. During the course of the programme the doctor presenting it had an MRI to show how body fat is distributed. Much to his shock, as he wasn't overweight, his results showed him seriously at risk of health problems due to the fat around his kidneys and liver etc. He also was on the verges of diabetes. I didn't look over-weight and his BMI was OK. Very interesting, its showed why some people can't lose weight. I'd recommend it if anyone has a chance to see it. It was Wednesday 8pm, BBC1, and called '10 Things you Need to Know about Loosing Weight' presented by Micheal Mosley. Very interesting and informative, not the usual strange diets! :x  Love Sue0

Get your Wii Fit out! Even if I oversleep, I still try to do at least 10 minutes! Come on!
