I have anklosing spondylitus and fibromyalgia and for the last several weeks have been experiancing tummy cramps where my intestines are more worse through the night when turning over also get them when trying to stretch.

Just wondered if anyone has these they are nor painful cramps just annoying they tighten up for a few seconds then like let go.

    Hi
It could be a side effect of meds esp. ant-inflammatories, MTX, etc. or it could be an ulcer or irritable bowel syndrome which is common in people with auto-immune disease and asthma. Suggest you speak to your dr. Vijay

Thanks Sue - the medication i am taking is...

100mg Diclofenac (slow release) 1 at night
Tylex capsuals (30mg codine/500 paracetomol) when needed
Entanercept by injection (50 mg once a week)
    Amitriptiline
    Opresmozol
Diclofenac 50mg (one in the morning)

I am just worried that it may be an ulcer but its a strange sensation its like below my stomarch where my intestines are to the left side as i am looking at the floor.

They dont hurt just on stretching/turning etc it cramps for about 3 seconds and then its all normal.

Bowls do seem strange though at the moment and when i have been to the loo the cramps are not as bad although still tyhere but not as much.

Thanks for any help again on this - This is a great site :D

    Hi Justinbarrow,

Aunty Legs thinks you need to make an appointment with your GP. Whether it be side effects or not you need to find out, we could dismiss it and then you're suffering and the doc could just say oh that's ?????? and sort you out. No more worrying then and the discomfort gone.

Hope you feel better soon.

Diclofenic did it to me too despite the lanzoprazole. Justin you are on omeprazole aren't you?
I am having big bad belly aches too and have just gone back onto the lanzop because I really think it's the hydroxy and I SO don't want it to be!

Hi, Do as Legs says, go to see the doc. Its a pain, but not as big as the one you'll get if it is an ulcer and you don't go. Its probably something else, but better safe.... Love Sue

Hiya yes im taking omeprazmozol for acid and tummy protection (could this cause these cramps?) it is strange.

a lot of people have mentioned an ulcer but can you get these in your intestine i thought they just affected the tummy lining.

I will make an appointment to get it checked out its just that they are not painfull just annoying at the moment.

    thanks :D

Hi is it the lower tummy that hurts? I think the best thing for you to do is go and see your GP. Make an appointment and tell him all these things including worrying about ulcers. He will be able to put your mind at rest and give you any treatment you need.

You are obviously worrying and that won't help you either!! :? I hope you find out whats wrong and get it put right. Love Sue :)

thanks, they dont hurt just that it like tenses up for a few seconds. its below my stomarch when i look on human body diagrams it looks like these cramps are from my right side intestine sort of area.

got to wait 3 days to see doc aswell - will keep you posted.

    thanks again.
