dislocated hip

Hi Everybody
i have had RA for 25 years and have had 11 replacement joints all of which have been great, apart from one my left hip ,had it replaced 9 years ago and all of a sudden it has started to dislocate. Three times in the last two month. the second time it came out they opened me up and put this thing in called a plad to keep it in place .but lo ad behold out it popped again and now i have to wear this awful hip brace 24-7 for three months. is their anybody out their who has had anything simlar would love to here if their is.
Getting to the end of my tether :(

    Hello,
    I feel so sorry that you've had so many ops. You must be a very brave person, I know sometimes we don't have a choice about these things. Welcome to the site, I'm glad you found it and hope you find it useful. I have OA, but lots of people one here have all sorts of problems and I'm sure someone will be along soon who is more helpful than me.

    As to the hip brace, I haven't heard of this, but I have just stopped being a care assisntant and at work we had a lady who had hip protectors and special pants, they were big plastic things, like half a ball and fitted into the side of her special pants. I'm sure that you will be having something more sophisticated than that :!:
