Hi
I am waiting for results of a neck/topspine x-ray due to some pain, cracking etc, but for the last couple of days i have been feeling dizzy and have a constant light headed feeling, does anyone know if this could be due to a neck problem? i also get like a creaking noise in my ears when i turn my head sideways, as i do not know yet if i have a problem in my neck until i get the results next week, I do have OA in my lower back which was diagnosed in January, i return to work on monday and am now worried about driving and being at work with the dizziness etc. I would appreciate any advice from you lovely people.
thanks marg

Hi Marg
I do know you can get similar symptoms with your neck, but I think I would take a wee bit of advice before returning to work....
as you say....
you have to drive and really dont want to make anything worse do you?

Hi Marge
Sorry to hear about the dizziness and light heads, but unfortunately this is what can happen when you have problems with your neck. I have cervical spondylosis which causes the same problems at times. I do not drive, but i know when i have a flare up i cannot turn my neck properly. The creaking is also part of disc trouble, the docs call it crepidus. My trouble is from C4-7 which also causes problems with funny pains in my ears and head I should have word with your gp, do not make things worse by going back to work and doing more damage..Take care

Hi
Thank you tony and Monica for your reply, I go to see my GP next wednesday but I have been told by my GP on a previous visit that i am fit for work as from monday so i have to go back. I've spoken to a nurse from occ healthand she has just told me that i will need to do a self assessment to decide what i can and can't do within my role. she did say that after 2 weeks if i was having difficulties then i could go back to see her and she would reduce my hours for a week or two.
hope you are well and have a lovely weekend

After this last week's injection of MTX, I went to get up to go to the bathroom during the night and the dizziness was so bad, I had to hold on to the walls and doors to get there.
My Rheumy nurse said that the MTX could cause this.
On the other hand I do have spondililitis too
so that could have caused it I suppose.
Do you think it is possible you may have an ear infection
Again, I have constant problems with my ears and that can cause dizziness.
I know I have a constant buzzing feeling in my head and I think I can put that down to tiredness and my medication
I expect my GP will be fed up to see me again when I go this next week. Have a long list to go through with him again.

Hi Marg,
I suffer exactly what you do. I feel as though I've been kicked in the back of the neck by a horse. My shoulders ache as well and it makes me feel very tired. But as you say it's the dizziness - well the 'don't feel quite here' feeling that worries me.
Keep saying I must say something about it, but I'm so fed up with clinics and tests I want to run away. I can't take any more.
Hope you get it sorted and, hey, take care!!!!

Hi Marg and Do,
A (((( )))) for you both and I get it as well. I go into a really bad vertigo attack here and there but have tablets that normally hold it off a bit...... They come up with all kinds of reasons..... The base of my skull gets a of of swelling and well that’s probably the real reason but I am sure they could help to keep you stable...... I know its more tests and more poking and prodding but I do really hope they can help you both. Another ((( ))) Cris x0
