Sooo!
Apparently I'm a bit of 'a mystery'! The xrays they took last time show no damage or joint narrowing, and all my bloods are totally low and normal, including anti CCP, RF, and all inflammatory markers. Also negative for lupus etc etc.

Got the actual consultant this time though and she was really lovely and really listened so that's good. She's sending me for an ultrasound to see the soft tissues and stuff and check for any very early damage.

She says that if there is anything wrong on the ultrasound then she'll put me on mtx, but if there's nothing wrong, then it's up to me and I can choose to go either on sulphasalazine or hydroxy.

I don't have much swelling or pain, and with the negative bloods she said that I should feel quite optimistic, and that it's not a dead certainty that I'll be alright because nothing's ever certain, but that she's seen many cases like mine that tend to do very well.

So, fingers crossed... Now, more waiting!! I have to get an appointment for the ultrasound.. I'm so sick of waiting I just want medication and to feel better! But yeah, I'm pleased overall I think..

So you are a "mystery" then ? You are being look after now and creeping up the ladder for a diagnosis. Patience is a virtue!! Let's hope it is not too long a wait for the ultrasound.

Hope you enjoy the long weekend,

The happiest people don't have the best of everything. They just make the best of everything.

If you can lay down at night knowing in your heart that you made someone's day just a little bit better, you know you had a good day.

    Thanks guys!
My GP and the rheumatologists at the hospital have believed me since day 1 and treated me really well so I think that's really lucky.

Toni, have you always had totally normal results for all the bloods? The consultant said the rest aren't too suggestive, but a negative anti-CCP test is a good predictor for less destructive disease.

She said hopefully the ultrasound will be done within a month, and you get the results on the same day. Then I don't go back to see her until the 1st August, to give meds time to work. Unless something changes obviously. Fun fun fun..

    Well, happy easter everyone!
