Aw bless Joan,
If the jab is painful it will only be for a second or two and you never know, it could really do the trick, at least for a time. I am pleased you came away, from the appointment with something positive, that is going to be done and then see what happens.
I think, Joan, with all the pain that you suffer, a jab will not phase you, in the least. I am ok with jabs as long as I do not look and I tell them politely that I do not wish to have a running commentary, just do it!
All, the best to you and Sue,
Luv

Hi Joan,
Oh I do hope it will work for you and sometimes they give you a bit of sedative not least if you have pain cus they have to move it into a position you are not going to be able to do fully awake. I think you can ask but its not too bad and its over quite quickly. I really hope it works for you and when are you having it or do you have to wait for a date? Luv and a ((( ))) Cris xx0 -
Hi Cris.
i have to wait for a date and then go back to see the doc in 3 months.
thank you for explaining.

Hi Joan,
I'm so pleased they have decided to DO something and that having the hip injection will help them to track where the pain is coming from.
I've had steroid injections...but not in the hip..so I'm not much use with advice on this one. sorry.
It would be really good if the injection gives you relief from pain and the effects from some steroids can last for several weeks so fingers crossed that's how it is for you.
Why not have a chat with your doc to see if you will be having sedation for the procedure, as Cris said? or phone the rheumy dept/ nurse to ask?........that might help make you feel more relaxed about having it.
(((hugs)))
