Hello everyone.
I hope that you are all well.
My rheumy has told me I have Plantar Facillis and have to see a Podiatrist re inserts for my shoes.
I would really like to be able to wear slip on sandals in the summer like I have always done .
Does any of you kind peeps know which sandals are the best ones to buy please.
Your help would be appreciated
Thank you
Best Wishes
Lynda

    Hi,
I've just been given inserts and I've had to buy new shoes, as the insert makes the foot higher in the shoe and they don't stay on. But I've found old shoes that I can wear and bought some new ones, with insoles that come out. They showed me some sandles that had the cushioned part that came out to put inserts in. Sorry, can't remember the name, it was German sounding. A good shoe shop with the makes are best, I've found and the staff are very helpful. I think I'm lucky, as we have 2 shops like that in our small town and people travel to buy their shoes there. The only thing is quite a lot of them are more expensive, but some are cheaper if you look round. Take the inserts and explain!

    Hi Lynda,

I wear inserts in my footwear. I had no luck with sandles unless they had a solid heel. Didn't matter what I did the insole shot out of the heel of all other designs like a rocket!!

eg of what I mean by solid heel .. http://product-image.tradeindia.com/00401085/b/1/Sandle.jpg this isn't the most elegant of sandles - but lots of styles do have solid heel back ... this was first suitable picture I came across.

I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.

Thank you sue and speedalong for your help.
As you said it is difficult finding the right shoes/sandals , being expensive doesnt help either.
