Hi, Welcome to the forum.
I'm not surprised you feel run-down after a nasty throat infection and the drugs you are on may make it slower for you to recover, but thats my guess, I don't really know as I have OA and don't need the same medication. It could well be that your body needs a bit of extra rest to recover, but it would be worth having a word with you GP or rheummy nurse. It could even be that the original infection is still hanging around, so I'd get it checked out.
Also RA often makes you feel tired, it could be a bit of a flare, caused by the infection. Thats why I'd get it checked out.
Better safe than sorry!

Hi penny
Poor old you
Did you have to have anti b's for the infection? They can make you feel a bit rough I think.
Maybe though you are having a flare or something else?
Hate to say it but - do you need to see the doc? Bet you dont want to
Hope you feel better soon

You can't rush these things. Rest, rest and more rest is probably the answer. Our poor bodies take a bashing from the drugs and infections do not help - they can often trigger flares. If things don't cheer up then involve your GP or rheum nurse. I hope you feel better soon. DreamdaisyHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

I didnt take any antibiotics for the infection so maybe it is still hanging around. Just wish I could sleep and then Im sure I would feel loads better.

Hi Penny, there has been a viral infection doing the rounds recently. My 17 year old, who is normally very lively and positive was sent home from school a couple of weeks ago because she just felt exhausted. She had a day in bed and then went back to school, she was sent home again. At this point I took her to the docs. She just felt so tired and washed out and her description was "I just feel like I want to take my skin off, give it a good shake and put it back on again". Doc did blood and urine tests and they were normal. Doc said its viral and it will just have to run its course. It took nearly 10 days before she felt back to her usual self Visited my sister last week and she has the same and so has her eldest daughter. Plenty of rest and a large dose of TLC will help your recovery. Hope you feel better soon.

Hi penny...nice to meet you.
sounds as though you just haven't shaken off that throat infection :? and your body has taken a bit of a battering coping with RA and the virus.
As others have said TLC and some rest to allow your body a chance to recover.
My doc says anti b's have no effect on a virus........it just has to be left to run it's course, unless you develop other secondary infections.... so best to ask the doc.
Hope you start to feel a bit better soon.
