Another soapbox moment!
I note todays Daily Telegraph, reporting on our new governments wish to let us subjects decide what onerous laws and regulations we wish to repeal to make a smaller government for a bigger society. Let us take our new election heros to task and write in with our complaints of the way our system is dealing with claimants disabilities.
Yes, we have representative groups, they obviously aren't doing a very good job otherwise we wouldn't be where we are! The law and regulations covering our problems need not be implemented in such a farcical way, to the detriment of those involved. No amount of intrusive red tape will make our illnesses improve or go away.
If our country can't afford us then it can allow us a place in society that is free from invasive bureaucracy and a life that is not diminished by such regimental and overarching ordering of our lives at a time when we need support? We do not need decisions about our lives to be made by an uncaring unsympathetic system.
It is still very early in the life of our new Parliament, let us remind our elected officials of our needs. Write to your MP and No.10 and tell them what has happened to you and how it needs to be changed.
8) Its a grin, honest!

couldn't agree more with everything you've said!
I've already contacted my MP and his secretary is visiting me at home tomorrow morning to take further info from me about the disability / DWP issues I've raised with him.
My MP was responsible for the green paper on disability that eventually led to the DDA so I have no reserve bringing disability and equality issues to his attention!
If we all did this we might even be heard!

Labour governments encourage layabouts and spongers with their unfair and unreasonable financial punishment of the wealthy. It's payback time now, and it is time to rid the system of those who so jubilantly exploit it. This will mean more stringent examinations for claimants to weed out the fakers and shammers, the feckless and bone-idle of the weasel underclass, and surely that has to be a good thing. How many more football-playing and long-distance hiking claimants are there to be unveiled?
As usual, the honest, those with moral fibre and backbone, will suffer due to the activities of the dishonest, those without those qualities. People power does exist - it's just in the wrong hands. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0 -
