Good idea, it's the getting to Nottingham bit and the expense of it. My total earnings for this week is £40. That ain't gonna stretch far. DD

Their money would be better spent elsewhere, I think. Thre are ways to tackle thse problems - standing on their doorstep for a few hours won't really register. Bombard ATOS with emails, contact local MPs and tell them the problems we're facing, write regularly to the local and national press, a constant drip, drip, drip is better than one mad flood. Think Chinese water torture! DD

Hi - a questions about these assesments - can we ask to see the report while we are still there??? Can we take their names etc and say to them if we dont agree with their comments then could we write to them? :?:

It just seems so wrong that so many people are having lies told about them - it is nearly defimation :?: of character :?: :?: :!: . If they are sayiing something wrong there must be something that someone can do :?: Is there a lawyer about :?:

    Hi Carol
I can understand your anger at ATOS. I went through similar with them. I was on incapacity benefit and was called for a "medical" with ATOS to see if I was still entitled to it. I scored 19 points so passed the criteria for incapacity benefit but the DLA used the same report to deny me DLA. I requested a copy of the report and the amount of items that were totally untrue stretched to a five page complaint. When I spoke to ATOS they told me that the report would not be changed whether I complained or not! I was told that I "could not question the Drs opinion". I told them thats not what I wanted to question, it was the answers I had given him had not been recorded correctly on the report. Basically I said black and he wrote down white. So thats that. Told by ATOS nothing can be done. Spoke to DLA who say they used this report, end of story. Spoke to the Incapacity People who had paid for the "medical" and they said I was in a catch 22 position. I had scored 19 points thats 4 over the required amount for IB so they cannot do anything either. Its absolutely awful. Cameron wants to save money then he should close all the tax loopholes and stop picking on the people who really need help. I eventually got DLA after appealing and waiting 11 months but only the lowest care element and no mobility. Here we go again I need help to get dressed and cant cook myself a meal but can nip out to the shops on my own, I wish.

Please dont give up I think that everyone that has a medical should get a copy of the report and highlight all the errors then send copies to ATOS, DLA, their MP, the Health Minister and David Cameron. One of them would eventually get fed up having to reply to the thousands of people sending them reports, maybe then they would take us seriously.

If Cameron is wanting to save money maybe he should try saving it by terminating the contract with ATOS. Ask all disabled people to sit on these appeal boards, similar to jury duty, then the people who deserve ESA, IB, DLA etc would not have to go through this disgusting practice and the people who are trying to fiddle the system would be caught.

My thoughts and best wishes are with you.
    Regards
    Trisha

    Hello all,

Just reading all your comments here about ATOS, omg I thought I was the only one who had there medical say they were fit for work. I was raving like yourself Carol! I was so mad and felt like I was trying to cheat them sort of thing.

I've now appealed 3wks ago and waiting to hear back, but I won't hold my breath!

Also I've just been told I have now got severer Osteoarthritis in my hip, which I have to try and sort if I can claim DLA now too.

I hope things work out for you

Hi Carole,I have just read your thread and I am disgusted at the way you have been treated by Atos, but you are not alone in this.
I was given ESA, last year scraped through on 16 points, I still asked for the doctors report and was horrified at what was written he was incorrect on so many things.

Just received forms for my ESA renewal, have to have the forms in by end September then it will be a medical, not looking forward to that

    Good luck with the appeal

Hi all, hope youre all good.
Just thought I would add a quick reply to this.

They HAVE to investigate if you complain by email or letter stating what youre not happy with.

    Hi Carole

Just to let you know I am thinking about you and am right behind your campaign.

Maybe you could start an online petition which everybody who has an "untrue" report from ATOS could sign and this would highlight just how often they get it wrong.

    Keep up the good fight
    Regards

    Carol

I am so sorry to hear this awful news.
How frustrating is it to have your intergrity and your honesty questioned like this?

The whole of Britain should be revolting against this disgraceful behaviour.

I sat the other day and wrote a wee thing called "Do they know what its like", and each line was about what I COULDNT do, in my life with arthritis.
I plan to do it properly and send it to the two clowns running this fine country of ours. I will also send it to Iain Duncan Smith, who is behind this nonsense, and await their replies.

I hope you fight them and win hands down.
Its a bl**dy disgrace what they are doing to people who suffer chronic pain on a daily basis.
