I currently have to take my daughter to a hospital a hour away to get treatment for jia & uvietis, and last visit i was prescribed mmf but the pharmisit wouldn't hand it over as i should have enough to last me to my next visit.... now after to checking the bottle it expires before my next visit great fun, my local hospital are currently refusing to prescribe so i guess i will have to do another hour trip to collect some more.
am sure i can fit this in ehile working full time, kaitlin having 2 weekly bloods along with all other monitoring hospital appiontments.
moan over .....

How frustrating. Could your local pharmacist order some in for you, to save the journey? I have no idea if they can do such a thing but it might be worth making an enquiry. DD

That is intensely annoying. Maybe the specialist hospital will confirm by phone to the pharmacy that you should have it.

Does anyone know: Would this turf fight over who pays for it all be due to who's budget pays for the drugs?

Your probably right there. Thankfully my local hossie will prescribe everything that's needed but the main one we've been referred to is doing pretty much everything else but it's 2 hours away.

I would try and call the other hospital and see what they can sort out for you, they can't possibly expect you to keep going there all the time to pick up drugs especially when it should have been prescribed and given at the time. Can they not fax the script over (I know they can do that as have had it done a few times) to a local pharmacy so you can pick it up?

    Hi Michelle

The problem I have is that its a releativly new drugs, and it slowly being increased so I am presuming that they just wont prescribe locally until on stable dose??
