Glad the snoozing helped, Iris. Sounds like the little nurses ... need to stretch their legs for a bit - a nice run to wear them out - would any of your family oblige?

Great to see your up and about Iris.
Hope you have got your feet up and pampering yourself.

Enjoy your 4 week off

There does not seem to be any offers of taking the nurses away.

    Cannot think why

    HI Iris,

I see that you persuaded littlelegs to come home ..... thanks for that  she has got rather too partial to her nurses uniform and won't take it off   so guess who had to play patient this afternoon for her  She likes us to sleep doesn't she :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

HOpe that you continue to improve, and that you start to notice some improvement from the drug too.

loads of hugs from me and tail wags from you know who

Hi Iris, hope the tiredness passes. Did the rheumy say it is a side effect you will always have or will it lessen as you get used to being on the new med?

    PS -

...found this half written on my hibernated laptop ... not a clue what the PS was ... so shall click "submit!"

    Morning all :D

loved your PS speedy . I can just fill in anything I want now.

rheummy ward didn't say if I'm likely to have this tiredness each time. but if that's as bad as it gets then 24-36 hrs in bed I can cope with..... just a pity I have no-one but wally running after me.

Please do keep a hold of little legs Wonky; her ministrations in combination with Hope and Wish's were effective but somewhat unusual... some would say 'primitive' just where did she do her training?........ MASH I suspect.:lol::lol:

Marion.... I am feeling better again today. thanks!
I had to get the train to the hossie as it's about 22mls away. wally refuses to drive that far and would have been complaining very loudly if he'd tried; to be honest I would have been worried about driving after the infusion with the wobbly effects it has on me.
Cris was there and she and 'Hope' kept me going the whole journey back.

Ironic... I have been resting thanks (still am) and it'll be pot luck dinner tonight again I think!
I've suggested to little legs and the baa gals that you might not be averse to trying out their particular care skills :?: well you didn't say no...so that's as good as a green flag to them.:lol::lol:

Hope you all have a lovely Sunday x

HOw long does that journey take - and are you really OK to do the homeward bit after? I'm fretting about you now, dorcas. I hope the tiredness has ebbed away today and you are feeling better/brighter, you sound it anyway! I liked speedy's PS too - that made me smile! Your diabolic damsel.

    Hi DD :D:D:D

Travelling in by train isn't ideal and the hospital weren't too enamoured either that I had no-one with me. but that's life!

I drove from my house to the local station...only 5minute drive..and left the car there . Train journey is 45mins plus 15min 'hobble' from the station to the hossie. The station is at the edge of the huge 3 hospital complex so a taxi isn't feasible.

I was ok damsel, honestly...just had to take my time. Cris would tell you that on the journey home Hope offered to let me sit on her back and I let her drive the last 5mins!:lol:

it's my fault anyway as I've stayed with the same rheummy since 1997 despite me moving about the country....he knows me so well I didn't want to change consultants. There is a local hospital that is only a 10 minute drive away!

don't be fretting damsel....brings on worry lines.:lol::lol:

Hi Iris, glad my PS made you smile.

Glad the tiredness is gradually lifting. Could you not have your infusions at your local hospital but still be under your old rheumy that knows you well and whom you trust? (or at least a porter/volunteer give you a ride to the train afterwards?

(Reminds me of my final hospital visit to Bristol ... I parked to take the shuttle bus, met a local couple waiting for it too they came out of the hospital at the same time as me. I followed them ... they get on the wrong shuttle bus ... so did I ... and then there was a long walk to the car. I walked with them as they knew the way, I didn't have my crutches - as it should have been a short walk ... I was going slower and slower, there was no where to sit and how I got back to the car I'll never know.)
Thankfully as they couldn't do the intended op as my hip was too far gone - I go to a local hospital ... still a lot of walking mind - but I'm prepared.

    morning iris

sometimes i think we get extra adrenaline so get us home and then colapse in the chair. But please do be careful.

I know what you mean as well about changing hosp, after being with the same one for so long. I have just done it and was abit worried but i think i m going to be pleased with the rheumy people i have changed to.

Hope you are feeling good today

    Morning Julie PF :D

how are you? are you making good progress with your wound now? Is it tomorrow you go to Orthotics?

thanks for your good wishes... speedy's too. I'm not sure about having treatment locally speedy... but will ask!

I am feeling fine today... tiredness gone and no headache or nausea, so I think it's going to be OK.

I have noticed a distinct reduction in the swelling in my knees this morning (hooray!) and in my fingers.. the ring I wear is sliding about so it's not my imagination.

Pain in the knees and neck is unabated but maybe it's damage that can't be undone.
early days so will not be hasty about what it will/ won't do.!

I'm feeling positive anyway and if the Infliximab stops more of the onslaught from arther in other joints that's good enough for me. :D

    love to all!

    Hi Iris,

Oh that's sounds more promising....... Now when you see about your knee ask about those tablets and the pain clinic possibilities as well! We shall remind you cus flower with out those 2 things I am nothing now a days and if it can help me that much it might be able to help you as well.

You done it now..... Hope has got her self a chauffeur's hat and blazer..... glad its your car mind cus i wouldn't let her drive mine :lol::lol: Course Her ladyship does have the Roller..... but she won;t be letting Hope drive that anytime soon......

Leaving you a ((((( ))))), some of those experimental dandelions sneakily grown on Toni's lawn (I shouldn't cus i know she hates them as much as I do docs!) and hope you have a bit of decent weather still clinging on there? Luv Cris who is off for some much needed therapy  xxx

I had a brainwave last night: we need a mobile MASH unit. That way we could take you to the hospital, hang around in the car park chatting to real nurses whilst you're being done (and keep an eye open for Mr Gorgeous Doctor) then ferry you home again. My neighbour used to have an old ice cream van - that would do, musical acccompaniment to boot. Sorted! DD

Thanks DD, Cris, Janey , Marion, Barabara and Ironic xxxxxx

Janey.... I do hope that the Riruximab starts to show signs of working for you.... as it has a different target cell to modify perhaps it's a slower process. anyway I'm hoping you'll soon feel a big difference.... be sure to let us all know. Is it 6months before you go back for your next infusion :?:

Cris, I think I'd rather have Hope in her chauffeur outfit than her nurses one.:lol::lol:
I'll try to remember to ask about the pregabalin next rheummy or doc appointment. The guy I'm seeing today I don't think will be considering my meds.
Hope Toni doesn't notice you planting out the dandelions in her best lawn. she'll be after you with the secateurs.:lol:
Haven't seen you Toni about much... so hope you and family are ok?

Marion, Thanks for continued good wishes.... I'm really hoping that this infusion works. You've been having a difficult time too  so hope the pain in those hands is easing :?:

Hi Barbara, there's no such thing as being late here  I always appreciate your support flower. :D I have been resting up but the tiredness has gone for sure. :D

Ironic, It's amazing what you can do if you have to eh? and it was definitely a 'needs must' journey on Thursday. My darling daughters were working and my sons don't drive so it was 'shanks's pony' for me then and again today. Is that a saying you're familiar with? or is it one of our quaint scottish sayings..?

Damsel, a mobile MASH unit in an ice cream van.:lol::lol:
great idea! you could sell ices at the same time.
Oh! I hate to burst your bubble.... but 'gorgeous doc' is in a sister hospital so I only see him when it's orthopaedics. .... not that I'm thinking for one minute that seeing him was your secret motivation.
    :lol::lol::lol:

it's raining here today and pretty windy too. :( hope some of you will see a little of the sunshine today. :D

    Hi Iris,

I think its a hard choice as to which is Hope's better functions  I still wouldn't let her drive me....... and her nursing skills are improving under Little legs's teachings......He has his doc's costume on just now so you might want to lock the doors again though I understand Jakey and Ruby will let him in......

Really hope it was ok today and the sun stayed out long enough? We have cloud again and its going to come down heavy any second now I think.....

Leaving a (((( )))) ad some of the secret dandelions (oh she might kill me! or worse plant some docs here :lol: ) with a side dish of bone healer and carrots. xxx

Seeing Mr Gorgeous will be our treat when you are hooked up to the drip - we'll trundle off for a couple of hours, drool, then trundle back. Oh and I won't sell the ice creams, I'll give 'em away. Much nicer thing to do. Wouldn't be able to sell them anyway - dandelion flavour does not appeal to everyone, tho with the flower on top they look pretty! DD

Hi Iris, just sending you good wishes and hoping the infusions are helping and not making you feel to grim.

I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.
