Well, you should be, I hope! It's Thursday, so I wonder if you are still in hospital? My guess is yes, but I thought I would get this going so that you can see, when you come back, that we have been thinking of you. I hope it all went well, that the surgery was OK and the nursing good - all those lovely Spanish senoritas tending to your every need, what a tonic for a bloke! How soon did they get you out of bed? Were you allowed to recover from the anaesthetic or did they prop you up in a corner? :D After my three ops I was forced out of bed at an indecently early stage I thought, boy was I riled! Anyhoo, I hope you are on the road to recovery, that you are doing your exercises as you should, that the pain is not too bad and that Mrs Tonesp is OK. You take care, post as soon as you are able please - I want to know how things are! DD

Morning tonesp, it's ghastly here today, cold, drear, damp and grey. Lucky you being in Spain! I have visions of sunshine, blue sky, the odd fluffy white cloud - that must aid recuperation! Are you up to tackling the flamenco yet? I hope you are feeling OK. DD

Right, I know it's Sauturday, but put that pretty nurse and the glass of sangria down and listen to the wise words of DD. Make sure you are doing your exercises and doing them properly. Make sure you are resting as much as you should be and not partying too hard. Make sure you are not getting on Mrs Tonesp's nerves by making far too many reasonable (and unreasonable) requests. Right, resume nurse-cuddling and sangria-swigging!

Seriously, tonesp, I hope you are doing OK. It is a big op from which to recover, adn it will take time and possibly longer than you think. Take care, and behave! DD

So Tonesp, how are you doing in that private room of yours? I hope you are getting out and about exploring the hospital corridors. Are you using crutches? Are the meds keeping the post op pain at bay? When will you be able to escape?

I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.
